Osteoarthrosis is a non-inflammatory joint disease characterized by degeneration of the articular cartilage, hypertrophy of bone at the margins, and changes in the synovial membrane. It is also known as Degenerative Arthritis and Degenerative Joint Disease. The joints affected most commonly are the knee, hip, hands and the first metatarsophalangeal joint. It is seen more often in olders as the most common cause of functional limitation.
